The Scaffold & Access Industry Association Education Foundation (SAIAEF) approves grant request for $45,000 toward safety training and education

Kansas City, Mo.- The Scaffold & Access Industry Association (SAIA) and the Scaffold & Access Industry Association Education Foundation (SAIAEF) are pleased to announce a grant of $45,000 from the SAIAEF to the SAIA for the updating and modernization of existing training programs. The check will be presented to the Association at the 2017 Annual President's Gala in Montréal during the 45th Anniversary Convention & Exposition. SAIA President, Paula Manning, states: "We graciously accept this donation and are excited by the prospects this grant will help to achieve. We believe that this indeed signifies the beginning of a great trend that will benefit our members and the industry as a whole. We thank the SAIAEF for their generous support of our programs."

The SAIA Education Foundation was formed in 1989 by a small group of SAIA members. The core of the founders' mission was to advance the industry and the SAIA, and to make it financially possible to create important training and education programs.

Today, the SAIAEF remains focused on funding continuing education and enhancing the SAIA training programs. The $45,000 grant has been awarded toward content updates for the following programs:
  • Train the Trainer Facilitator Skills Workshop; A 16-hour interactive and hands-on approach to the improvement of teaching and learning skills.
  • Competent Person Training (CPT) for Supported Scaffold
The upgrade of both of these programs will ensure compliance with best practices and have a wide-reaching impact within the industry.

Contributions from The Education Foundation help the SAIA fulfill its mission to ensure those who make, install, depend on or govern the use of scaffold and access equipment pursue the highest standards of safety, craftsmanship and ethics.
