Field Draftsman
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Field Draftsman
to join our team. As a Field Draftsman, you will be responsible for creating accurate and precise
technical drawings, plans, and layouts based on field measurements and specifications. You will
work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and other team members to ensure the accurate
representation of construction projects through drawings and assist in maintaining project
documentation.
Responsibilities:
Drafting and Design:
? Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software and other drafting tools to create
detailed technical drawings, plans, and layouts based on field measurements,
sketches, and specifications.
? Produce accurate and clear drawings of architectural, structural, electrical, and
mechanical elements of construction projects.
? Collaborate with Engineers and Project Managers to understand project
requirements and incorporate design changes into drawings as needed.
? Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations in all
drawings.
Field Measurements and Data Collection:
? Conduct field visits to construction sites to gather accurate measurements and
collect necessary data for the drafting process.
? Utilize measuring tools and equipment to record dimensions, elevations, and other
relevant information.
? Communicate with project teams to clarify measurements, resolve discrepancies,
and ensure accurate representation of on-site conditions.
Drawing Revisions and Updates:
? Review and incorporate revisions, markups, and feedback from project teams into
existing drawings.
? Maintain a systematic and organized approach to document control, versioning,
and archiving of drawings.
? Update drawings to reflect changes in project scope, design modifications, or field
adjustments.
Quality Control and Accuracy:
? Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of drawings, adhering to
drafting standards and best practices.
? Perform quality checks on drawings to identify and resolve any errors or
inconsistencies.
? Verify dimensions, labels, and annotations for clarity and correctness.
Collaboration and Communication:
? Work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and other team
members to understand project requirements and incorporate design changes into
drawings.
? Collaborate with other draftsmen and design professionals to ensure consistency
and coordination of drawings across various disciplines.
? Communicate effectively and professionally with team members, providing status
updates, seeking clarifications, and resolving drawing-related issues.
