Training

The SAIA is committed to providing world-class training and education to its members; promoting safety, better business practices, and innovative solutions to the industry; and ensuring continuous development by serving as the Secretariat for the ANSI A92 and A11 standards.

Training and safety education courses are offered through the SAIA University (SAIAU) Training Program and available throughout the year for both SAIA members and non-members. Courses include:

  • User Hazard Awareness for supported and suspended scaffold

  • Competent Person Training (CPT) for supported and suspended scaffold

  • Journeyman Program in Canada

Course materials have been developed by experts within the scaffold and access industry are designed to educate workers on the safe practices of using, erecting, and dismantling scaffold and access equipment. They are taught by SAIA members who have been approved by the Accredited Training Institutes (ATI) Committee.

Students represent a diverse audience from those seeking to broaden their knowledge and skills to global companies requiring their workforce to be trained and maintain certifications relevant to their job requirements.

The SAIA embraces an environment of learning through participation and facilitates the process through its committees, councils, regional meetings, Committee Week, and the Annual Convention. The SAIAU has trained more than 60,000 students worldwide.
